The Porsche Taycan and the Audi e-tron GT are sibling vehicles that share 40% of their parts, making them 40% identical. They both run on the same platform and perform very similarly to one another.

Nonetheless, they are not the same. Despite the fact that the engineers were working from the same basic platform, they attempted to differentiate the cars. Their appearance, feel, interiors, and, to some extent, performance are all distinct. They are the German automakers' first major foray into the burgeoning EV market.

Reasons Why the Porsche Taycan Is the Best Luxury EV

Top Speed of the Porsche Taycan

The Porsche Taycan edges out the Audi e-tron GT by a hair. The Porsche Taycan Turbo has a top speed of 162 mph, making it one of the fastest electric vehicles on the market. The Audi e-tron GT has a top speed of 155 mph. It's not a huge difference, but in a competition, we'd clearly have a winner.

Given that these are both electric sports cars, it's easy to see why top speed would be more important to those who would purchase them. Furthermore, the Taycan easily wins due to its faster acceleration.

Performance of the Porsche Taycan

When it comes to power, the Porsche Taycan is the clear winner. Both the Turbo and Turbo S have powerful powertrains. The Turbo produces 671 horsepower, while the Turbo S produces an impressive 751 horsepower.

That is far more than is required to outperform the Audi e-tron GT's 476 HP and the RS's 589 HP of combined power output from its motors. Although the Audi has a 2.5-second overboost that increases horsepower to 637, it is still less powerful than the Taycan.

Porsche Taycan Range Advantage

However, other sources indicate that the Taycan has a slight range advantage, with a maximum range of about 250 miles for the Taycan Turbo, while the maximum EPA range for the e-tron GT is about 238 miles, and the RS e-tron GT is even less at 232 miles.

Whichever is correct, it would appear that they are both very similar vehicles with very similar ranges.

Interior of the Porsche Taycan

In contrast to the Audi e-tron GT's physical buttons, the Taycan has a more modern and flashy interior design that focuses heavily on touch screens. Which is superior is clearly a matter of personal preference.

If you want to feel like you're in a more modern or technologically advanced car, the Taycan's interior design might make you feel that way.

Exterior of the Porsche Taycan

The Porsche Taycan, on the other hand, has a lower front end to give it a more sporty appearance. This design makes it appear to be more geared toward speed than the e-tron GT, but this is purely cosmetic.
Once again, it is entirely subjective as to which design is preferable in your opinion.
