Small premium crossovers, such as the 2022 Cadillac XT4, are popular, with many drivers attracted to their upright driving position, practical cabins, and upscale appearance. The XT4 is one of the roomier options among these mini utes, which will help it win over those who value extra interior space, but its interior amenities fall short of those found in rivals such as the Audi Q3 and Mercedes-Benz GLA- and GLB-class SUVs.
All models are powered by a 235-hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine, and a slew of infotainment features are standard. The XT4 performs admirably, particularly in Sport trim, but if you're looking for something a little more exciting, consider the BMW X1, which is nearly as practical but offers more driving thrills.
2022 Cadillac XT4 Price
As of this writing, Cadillac has not released official pricing for the 2022 XT4. We estimate that this SUV will cost around $35,800, based on the similar 2021 XT4. While that is above average for the class, the top-of-the-line Sport trim is expected to start at $40,000, which is less than most rivals' top-trim prices.
The Premium Luxury and Sport models are nearly identical in price, but the former does not live up to its name, and the latter is even better to drive, so we recommend the XT4 Sport. It has one-of-a-kind wheels, blacked-out exterior trim, and exclusive interior accents. In addition, the Sport model has an exclusive active suspension with adaptive dampers and more bolstered front seats.
To that, we'd add the Comfort and Convenience package (leather interior, ventilated and massaging front seats, etc.) and the Active Sport suspension (adaptive dampers) to avoid the ride-quality-degrading 20-inch wheels that come with the Sport Dynamics package.
