The Cadillac XT6 is an excellent SUV. It has composed handling and good fuel economy for the class. Inside, you'll find three rows of spacious seats, user-friendly standard features, and a larger-than-average maximum cargo capacity.
It does, however, have some significant flaws. The base engine is underwhelming, and many competitors are more fun to drive. A few reviewers also mention that the gas pedal is a little touchy and that power isn't always put down smoothly. The cabin materials, while nice, are a little disappointing given the price of this Cadillac, and the seats could be more comfortable and supportive.
2022 Cadillac XT6 Engine, Transmission, and Performance
For 2022, XT6 buyers will have a choice between a 237-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and a 310-hp V-6 engine. Both are equipped with a nine-speed automatic transmission and are available with front- or all-wheel drive. The XT6 is available in three trim levels: Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport, with the first two emphasising comfort and the Sport emphasising performance-enhancing features like a torque-vectoring rear differential and retuned steering.
A Platinum package is available, which includes all of the XT6's features. Regardless of trim, the XT6 is a handsome vehicle. Twenty-inch wheels are standard, but the Sport model can be upgraded to 21-inchers. The handling is adequate for a three-row crossover, but it is no match for the agile CT5-V sedan.
