Surprisingly, the Ford Explorer's base infotainment system receives more praise than the upgraded system. This is largely due to the smaller on-screen buttons on the available 10.1-inch touch screen, and the vertical orientation means that smartphone integration systems aren't as large and easy to see as they would be with a horizontal layout. If you choose a model with a larger screen, you will also lose the smartphone-sized storage cubby that comes with the smaller screen.
