The Cadillac Escalade is a great choice in the class, and you should give it a look if you want a huge luxury SUV. And not that it’s a big deal in a class full of vehicles with price tags pushing – or far exceeding – $100,000, but the Escalade costs less than many of its competitors, making it a good value.
The 2022 Cadillac Escalade hasn't seen many changes. Lane departure warning and lane keep assist are now standard, and some features have been shuffled between trim levels. Aside from that, the 2022 Escalade is nearly identical to the 2021 Escalade.
2022 Cadillac Escalade Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG
Escalades with rear-wheel drive are rated at 15 mpg city, 20 mpg highway, and 17 mpg combined; adding all-wheel drive reduces each of those figures by 1 mpg. The previous generation model had highway ratings as high as 23 mpg, and the Escalade's main rival–the Lincoln Navigator–also has more efficient ratings.
Choosing the turbo-diesel engine saves money, with EPA estimates as high as 21 mpg city and 27 mpg highway. An all-wheel drive Escalade with the optional diesel engine returned 26 mpg on our 75-mph highway fuel-economy test route.
