The Cadillac Lyriq 2023 is the brand's first all-electric vehicle and the forerunner of a slew of new EVs from parent company General Motors. This electric luxury midsize SUV features a new generation of battery technology, dynamic styling, and Cadillac's most advanced technology features.

With the Lyriq, General Motors is introducing Ultium, a new line of EV battery technology. The scalable technology enables the automaker to produce batteries ranging in size from 50.0 kWh to 200 kWh, with the largest size reserved for large EV pickup trucks such as the upcoming GMC Hummer EV SUT.

Cadillac claims that the Lyriq will have a battery with a capacity of about 100 kWh and will be capable of driving ranges of more than 300 miles per charge. Although DC fast charging will be standard, the Lyriq will also be able to charge via home power outlets.

Real-World MPG and Fuel Economy

So far, there has been no word from the EPA on the Lyriq's estimated fuel economy (as expressed in MPGe), but we anticipate that information will become available closer to the SUV's release date. We'll also be able to put the Lyriq through our 200-mile highway fuel economy test in the future, and we'll update this storey with the results. Visit the EPA's website for more information on the Lyriq's fuel economy.
